Hello Everyone

Wheel Question:

I'm running 15" Typhoon Weld Racing Wheels with 35" BFG Mud Terrains
on a 96 GMC Sierra K1500 with a Fabtech Lift.I'm hearing a popping or
creaking noise coming from the left front wheel as I roll along. It
seems to be worse in high heat. Has anyone else encountered this...the
guys at Weld Racing are not responding on this issue. I seem to
recollect reading somewhere that their initial designs on this style
of wheel had been reengineered because of noise complaints. I haven't
been able to successfully locate any information on this.

Is this a defective wheel or just an unpleasant side effect of forged
aluminum wheels...you'd think at damn near $300.00 wheel that this
problem wouldn't happen.

Is it possible that wheel camber could be causing this popping noise
I'm hearing? Like maybe the center cap is being squished out of round
or something...I'm at a loss...

Thanks for any help anyone can provide

Ross

First of all:

1- Is it a two, or three piece wheel?

2- are the wheels straight when this "POP"occurs?

3- Is the camber set way too fat positive, also was the caster checked for
un-equality from right to left?

4- Put that wheel on the left rear, do whatever makes it make noise and get
back to me?

I'll try to help by getting in touch with Weld Wheel if it is in fact a
wheel!
