I'm putting my 1958 109" series 2 back together, and want to make it as watertight as possible. I'm more interested in having it 'up together' than concours, so not worried about original seals if there is a better way to go.

I'm after all the body seals basically, so
front doors
side fixed windows to body (both sides)
side fixed windows to roof
seal for rear lid

if the original patterns (ie Bearmach/Britpart etc) are the best way to go, does anyone have the part numbers. There seems to be no consistency in the descriptions. Thanks

I will be in the same boat come the time for me to do my seals, also not bothered about original just what works best, will keep an eye on this one!

I used original seals for the doors. If you buy genuine LR ones they are quite soft and seal pretty well. Some choose to fit later model Defender style seals for better water tightness.

I got my other fixed window seals from www.sealsdirect.co.uk. They do a huge choice. Bear in mind the hard top side windows are probably 5mm thick so need an extrusion of suitable gap. Glass is damned heavy too!

I have all sorts on mine and have been very lucky so far with weather tightness. Not sure if its your bag to go modern but my door seals are brill. They are the ones that are a tube type that knock on to the frame edge. This did mean grinding the lip off the uppermost edge under the roof and the one that runs down the latch side. Not a big job and unreversible but well worth it in my opinion for the modern profile seal. I didnt get the seal by the meter but opted for the one that is made up with a 90 degree angle already welded in it for the top corner of the door. I saw that as a problem area and didnt want to risk ballsing it up.
The rear window seals I got from Woolies Trim. Great site with lots of original and traditional stuff but modern options by the meter. The roof to side panels and sides to tub where a selection of self adhesive closed cell strip off ebay. Very good per meter price and have done the job perfectly. The sides to body is a huge lump, I think 30mm x 25mm and fills the whole recess with enough to compress onto the tub top. Just passed the first year mark with no issues.

Thanks for replies/advice - I think Bobsticles pragmatic approach sounds good to me - the Woolies site looks great, I was unaware of them. Prices look OK too.
