hello i'm new to this forum stuff i need some help with my disco i've had her nearly 3 years with no trouble at all. Then a few weeks ago a heater hose went n dumped all the water.I replaced the hose n refilled the system via the water pump all sorted so i thought. a few days later the heater stopped i tracked this down to a faulty thermostate.I replaced this all fine for a week or so.I had a 600 mile drive for a wedding again no probs i went for a short drive the next day the temp shot up n when i pulled over the water was coming out the header tank and all the hose's seemed fit to burst.I bled the system again gave it all a good flushing out.Now when ever i do a few short runs the same thing happens over heating n dumping all the water i've taken the therm out as i thought it could be that playing up again. But no joy and when ever it starts to overheat now there seems to be alot of pressure in the system a friend said maybe headgasket but i can see no signs of mixing in the water or oil would be greatfully of any advice on the problem.I'm living in france so need to be able to fix it myself last time i took a car to let the french look at it didn't get it back for weeks n would have been cheaper to buy a new car in the end

You're going to have to check a few possibilities. Feel around the radiator to check for any cool spots when the car is up to temp (blockage in rad). Does the thing heat up quicker at low speeds than highway speeds? (viscous fan on the blink) or perhaps water pump issues. Check the pump for any play and look for dribbles of water coming out of the bottom of pump.

The pressurized hoses ARE a sign of bad a HG, so you may want to have the coolant checked for gasses present.

Good luck.
