Water through the interior light....

Hi - me again - forgot to mention - today after all of the heavy rain - i have driven the car and there is water dripping out of the interior front light - just the right hand side one - the light still owrks - i can switch on and off, but is there a fix? Does anybody know of any independant garages over my way that are dcent for the car too?

where wud your way be John. Change your Usercp to show wherabouts you are based.

also do a search for both yo problems.

if you have roof bars, or have recently fitted any check the bolts as tight as possible, as this can cause a water leek (found out the hard way)

There are no roof bars - i'll take a peek see if i can see any roof bars been on though - thanks

worth taking the four protecters off and check that the dummy bolts underneath are tight,

the other place the water could come in from is the arial base?

It wont be the roof bar mounts it will be coming in from the Roof Mount Aerial, its mounted directly above the interior light.

Take the light out and you will see a 10mm nut which secures the aerial wire from your stereo to the actual aerial.

Check its tight, if it is and still leaks remove it and add some sealer and re-tighten.

Hi Zippy - i plucked up courage and got stuck in - i've nevevr removed anything on a car before! Sure enough - there is the nut - i have tightened it up as you said and will see how it goes - i will reseal it if needed - really appreciate yours and everybody elses advice - i'll also check the roof bar mounts when the weather clears by taking off the covers as suggested.
