TD5 - New LR part water pump fitted in October as part of an engine replacement. Within a month I was losing coolant at the rate of a litre every few days!
No water or staining was visible anywhere.
Garage checked (pressure tests etc.) and said no sign of head gasket or other problems but water coming from tell tale hole suggests that the new water pump is faulty.
They fitted a replacement BUT  again in a few weeks the same problem.
Again the garage did checks and said 'believe it or not its another faulty pump'.
A neighbour (retired LR mainstealer mechanic) reckoned they had problems a few years back where sealing rings supplied did not match pumps accurately and new pumps leaked.
Has anyone else had similar problem?
The car is due to go in after New Year for its 3rd new pump! Garage and I have fingers and everything else crossed!
Meanwhile, my neighbour's suggestion - try Radweld to seal whatever joint is leaking. Anyone tried that?

are you defo sure they changed the pump previosly, and didnt use radweld instead, as the pump i fitted had the rubber sealing washer pre fitted into a groove, so cant see it being the wrong size

Yes, sort of. It was the O-ring that sealed the big bracket onto the block where the issue was. The O-ring was not fat enough, and so did not seal at all. IT could be seen dripping out of the bottom of said bracket, instead of the small hole on the outside of the bracket

Definitely changed pump - know and trust the guys (they are a local small garage), they showed me the 'old' pump before buying the new one first time round. And second time I watched them stripping the pump off, and saw the new one arrive.
They are also really p****d off with the local mainstealer who insists on seeing the old pump before issuing a replacement - which causes a delay and wastes their time!

Finale...(hopefully)
Chaps got a credit note from the 'main stealer' for pump no 2, and used the cash to buy a guaranteed compatible pump from a local motor parts factor. It was about half the price, came with an assortment of sealing rings (bagged with labels for different engine numbers!) and has been in for a month with - so far at least - no sign of a leak!
So much for LR genuine parts!
