Water pooling in rear storage, Series 2

Hey guys,
I've got a 1969 Series 2A long wheel base Safari. I'm in NZ so it's had a typical engine swap to a Holden 186 straight 6.
Overall she's pretty tidy, and I've been slowly doing maintenance like replacing out brittle and perished rubber, addressing surface chassis rust, etc. Next on the list is replacing all the door seals.

However one issue has me a bit stumped, I seem to get a large volume of water pooling in the storage box in the boot. It leaks out the back during the day, so I'm guessing it's condensation snaking it's way in?

Anyone with similar experience or tips or advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. I have a series 3 lwb station wagon so quite similar to yours in design. I have this problem too. I hadn't realised until I opened the storage area to get out some tools and found everything soaking wet. My suspion is that water (rain) is getting past my perished rear window seals and running down the inside and finding its way in and once in, can't evaporate out. I have been thinking about drilling a small hole to let the water run out.

Cheers for the reply. Someone else had mentioned this to me. The windows all have drain holes below them, but I guess if the seal tracks have perished then they could be just leaking straight down. Are the seals easily replaced?

I once tried to replace the channels on my front doors, what a bleeding nightmare. I bought new door tops ready glazed in the end. I've read on here about folk who have replaced the window Chanels themselves and said it was easy but they obviously have more patience than me. My back window channels look more like window boxes, there's that much moss and stuff growing in them.
