Hi folks .

Need a little help on this please.
Been thinking the head gasket is leaking but before I do this I thought I’d ask thoughts on here.

The pic added shows the back of the cam belt casing and is above alternator, effectively behind water pump.
I’ve got moisture around the corner of the head and indeed quite a bit of oil in this area that covers the block as far as I can see back to behind and under the manifold, but dry further to back. Only below level of head join.

You can see my torch poked in and it’s pointing to area from which there is a water drip. The drip is off block under where you can see the bracket for dip stick.

When I look above the water block part (don’t know correct term) has been fitted with a sealant.

When I look into the gap at underside of this it’s lightly damp, but not soaking, yet the water is still dripping at a reasonable pace below it.

Where would you all suspect water may be coming from in this area? Seems to leak worse when been stood and cold.

I’m guessing that the water block had to be removed to do head gasket anyhow and oil leak is mainly why thinking head gasket. Just cannot for the life of me get a fix on either leak.

Any shared thoughts would be appreciated.

If you take the water pump, power steering pump, just unbolt it and push to one side to make room and take the support bracket off you will get down to the p gasket. 2 second job to change. Didn’t take me too long to get down to it. Get a replacement from turners. It’s better than original. Give your cooling system a good flush too since you’re at this job. Hope the pic helps.
