I was giving the car a thorough clean at the weekend and took off the plastic trim that covers the join between the carpet and the bottom of the rear door opening on the drivers side, it's the section that when removed you can see the wiring loom. There was a little bit of clear water in there and I soaked it up with a piece of kitchen roll, I should say that I park the car on my drive which has a slope on it so the nose of the car is up. Do any of you know where the water may be coming from and how to fix the leak, as I want to get my headlining done and there's no point if it has rainwater coming in.

Does the car have a sunroof?

Do you have any tips for unblocking them?
No sunroof on either of mine so, no I don't have experience of unblocking them. I'm sure there will be some unfortunate along soon who an tell you about the P38 sun roof. There have been several threads on the subject recently that might come up in a search.

If you remove the shelf that the parcel shelf sits on and look at the rear seatbelt reel you will see part of the drain system, like a tube fitting into a funnel type of set up.
You could also have a rusted out sill, poor door seal etc. Leave that sill finisher off and play a hose pipe over the car whilst someone observes stuff inside.

I use one of the wires that are used to hang net curtains, couple of quid at wilko. Open sunroof and stand on step ladder and you will see the drain holes front and rear along the sides. gently feed the curtain wire down the drain holes to clear out. Worked for me OK

Either sunroof drains or the pollen filter covers leaking.

Both are very common, the front sunroof drains drop the water either side of the gearbox, 2 rubber nipples undernath "fnarr" that need clearing occasionally.
A straw works well.

The rear drains go though the wheel arch, and again can block up or in some cases fall off and cause one hell of a water issue!

Pollen filter covers extremely common, and 99% or the time are the issue, these just require re-sealing..

There’s so many places that these things leak from it’s hard to Remember where there supposed to drain from I only remember because I had mine out when I took the dashboard out and they were a bitch to get back right with the new carpet in place
