 Well I thought I would be introducing myself with a smiley face because of my lovely new to me disco 2. Today it rained heavily and I have water in the dashboard. The stereo casette has water in it and is stuck on high volume.
 Any ideas... please... its not funny and I am worried what is happening to the electronics!
Cheers Ray

did or can you see the water come in?
did it drop down from the front interior light if so it ill be a sunroof issue.

We dont think it is from the sunroof and we cannot see or feel water getting in. The only thing we have noticed is yesterday when we were in the car there were miniscule water droplets on the dashboard around the vents and we had a lot of wind noise but we dont know if that is normal. At that time we checked the sun roof was shut properly and there wasnt any evidence of leaking. Today whilst the car was parked there were no water droplets in the car or pools of any water. We are baffled. Our thought was could the air conditioning outlet hose be blocked, or could water from the air intake be sucked up. I do find it difficult to believe the air intake because I only drove through 6 inches of water. Ray

If you have a manual sunroof take the winder off and have a look for water coming in there

theres a good good chance it is dripping down from that

hiya. i'm a windscreen fitter and have had to do hundreds of remove and refits on these discos. its a bonded screen and needs removing to fix it properly. the most common problem with them is that the screen sits too high from the body. the factory (and most windscreen firms) only put the glue on either the body or the glass but really needs to be on both to get a good seal. if you take it in to get it done ask them to make sure they glue both body and glass and to bond the seams on the bodywork behind the windscreen as this is another well known place from them to leak. you would be as well to put a crack in it and claim it through your insurance as they will need to replace all 4 trims as well and charge you a fortune for the priviledge.

Hi. I am a new member and have got the same problem with my Disco. I thought it was the sunroof so covered it before heavy rain. the roof lining still filled with water and poured through sunroof winder and interior light. If car parked on a hill facing up no water leak. I agree that it must be the window seal as I have heard that the body flexing can damage the seal and cause leaking?

I had the same prob with water coming in the sunroof winder. Replaced the front sunroof seal, £10 from L/R dealer & 10 min job to replace.
Just had a heavy shower here & its dry as a board.
Just the rear one to change now......which is not leaking, but for the price, isn't gonna break the bank :D
