Hi
Iv got a 1992 landrover discovery 200tdi.
Just been doing a bit of light green laning, drove it through a shallow stream.
On the way back the orange light with a circle and 2 or three lines on two both sides was flickering and then came on.
I normally comes on when the handrbrake is on along with the red handbreak light, is this normal operation for it to come on with the handbrake as i have never really thought anything of it before now?
What could be wrong with it, water in the electrics, sticking diff ect?

The only orange ones on mine are difflock and glow plugs.

Hi

Yeah i will post some pics up later!
Not sure what the hell it is though because it isnt even in the owners book, its the one in the middle below the middle one if that makes sence! is a amber colour, how many lights come on when your handbrake is on?

Only lights I get when the handbrake is on are red

i looked at mine and at my handbook and i can't work out what it is sorry , need a picture ...

have a look at the picture on this thread and see if it is there ... pic is on post 15 ...

Its a bit like 32 but its amber and it hasnt got the exclamation mark in it and the two lines around it have a couple of splits in them!
This is worrying me now cos its been on since i have had it when the handbreak is applied, and now its flickering whilst driving!
So has no one else ever seen this? eek!
My Landy must be special or something then! :doh: lol

Look on the bright side, it's orange , red means it's gone wrong, orange it's just about to .

Maybe brake pad light.

Yeah thats the better way of looking at it, but it was on when i got the car so god knows how long it has been "about to break" for lol
Does the handbreak have a set of shoes, does it work in the same way as a drum brake, if so it might be for the shoes being worn out in that maybe, but the brakes all work fine!
its almost what the symbol looks like!

Seriously tho, has no one ever had this come on, cos it surely cant be the only one!

Its brake pad wear indicator (has dotted lines on outside of circle). Check thickness of all pads - if they look ok , then a wire is shorting to earth.
