Need advise.

I have a Freelander 05 petrol 1.8, had it from new, recently an orange warning light which resembles a car engine, as been coming on periodicallly and flashes for about 15 secs, and goes off. My freelander drives normally when the light comes on. should I be concerned the manual does't explain the reason. Thanks Neil

:welcome2:
Sounds like you have a sensor in the engine that is misbehaving. When the light comes on the engine management unit is having to operate in a 'fallback' mode to compensate for the failing sensor. The problem will be logged by the controller and this can be read by a diagnostics system. Suggest you get your garage to read the fault codes and advise you on what steps to take.

By the way, I hope you have thick skin, Freelanders are disliked by the Tractor boys on this site and the petrol ones are especially open to abuse. There are a few of us around that take them seriously though so stick around.

Hope this helps.

tractor? sir mine is a v8:welcome2: mine is both non pc and antisocial

excuse me Mr G,g,g, freelander owner - yu mite get a better response to your technical enquiry if you posted this in the G, g, g, Freelander section.

that ok Mr Mod;). Or could you possibly move it for the nice gentleman?

Now then Mr X-Freelander owner, we Freelander drivers do occationally venture out of our laire to find our friends in need. However, it would make sense to shift this into the Freelander area if a Moderator would be so kind. :D
