The local firm will most likely be sending the BECM to Rick and marking up the price, there are very few people with the skill to repair these units. Is the carpet wet in the drivers footwell? If it is, you are wasting your time until you dry it out.
Worth checking and cleaning all the BECM connectors too.
Always run with the aircon on, it keeps the electronics dry.

I wonder if it's the same guys who say they are the only one's who can also repair Disco 2 BCU's. This is the biggest laugh I've had in a long time.
It's taken me 4 years getting the software together for these BCU's & in the next month or so, I'll be repairing , rebuilding, & unlocking these BCU's just like we do with these Becm's.
That really will shock them!

That's the company I used a few years back. Didn't know about you then Ric. Work came with a two year guarantee. Had a problem with the car after about a year, they checked the BECM and there was not a problem with it. checked FOC.

BBA reman are a large geniune company. They were one of the alternatives when I first started, or fell into it, I should say. They can only test the physical components & cannot test it "hot", where 99% of the problems are found. If fact, none of the companies test hot, & this is where we come into our own.
We've always done free testing. How can we quote for a problem if we don't know what the problem is. There's a company out there that will so call test your becm & charge £170 to tell you there's a problem, & for another £100 they swap your becm, or repair it, as they call it. I'd be to embarrassed to operate like that.
I'd say to anyone, do your homework.

When I've sorted the problem with the leak I will give the enemy a day out at Brighton I fink take the car down there for a day fanks for all your advice
