Hi,
Have recently aquired series 3which has had fortune spent on it by previous owner but quality of work bit questionable! Currently have probs with the wiring on the Voltran lpg conversion. It is very basic: a single hole tank, a seven wire dasboard fuel changeover switch, diffuser, and solenoids. The current wiring is all bits twisted together-not soldered or properly connected. I want to replace this with a decent bespoke harness. Can anybody help me with a diagram-or point me in the right direction?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi

Try contacting the manufacturer of the LPG kit or solder the wires on correctly in sequence, it will be a lot easier than having a besoke loom made.

If you're insistant on a bespoke loom then the land rover maganzines have loads of good information. Easiest way would be to solder the wires correctly, if the bits are really sloppy make you're own loom (Again loads cheaper than bespoke)

Thank you Charlotte,
I meant that I intended to manufacture my own bespoke loom-unfortunately I didn't state it! The problems are now resolved. With a three way changover switch and seven cables I resorted to a seven by three outcomes test matrix. This showed-eventually-that the tank outlet solenoid was not being activated because the switch to the white sleeved cable was not passing current when it should have been. To avoid unnecessary cost I fitted an auxiliary switch and fused line. I also fitted a manual gate valve in the petrol line and an additional switch in the feed to the (electric) fuel pump. Some of this I did for security reasons rather than reliability...
If any body needs a basic wiring diagram for the Voltran conversion I can now assist!
