VOGUE CENTRAL LOCKING issue

I have just fitted an excellent condition top tailgate that was obviously fitted prior to scrapping a Classic VOGUE SE 1992 Model. It had keys, the seal and everything. The only thing it did not have was a central locking actuator as the car did not have central locking, or the previous owner could not fit it. I would like to know if I can retro fit the central locking actuator to this tailgate, so it would central lock. Do I need to buy any more parts ( notably the whole white slider that the actuator slides over to each side when it works. The key lock has now stopped working even though it did work in the scrapyard and at the moment I cannot lock the rear tailgate by any means. Has anyone done this conversion thanks.
