Hi,

I have a set of alloys from a Vauxhall Vivaro and before I try wondered if they might fit on my 2006 Freelander 1?

Thanks in advance!

Short answer is no or at least not properly as in safely; they may go on, but the wheel nut will be offset in the hole and not providing a good grip of the wheel to clamp it to the hub.

If you are looking for a set of alloy wheels to pimp up your freelander, japanese sports cars such as the mkII MR2, Toyota Supra, RX7, RX8, Nissan S200, 300zx,Honda Civic Type R, NSX, Accord, Mitsubishi GTO / 3000gt & Evo's etc... all share the 5x114.3 bolt pattern, but I have never known. or even tried to remember all the diffferent centre bores and offsets. Your freelander uses an offset, noted on the rims as ET of about 40-50, this makes it relatively easy to fit other wheels to it as anything with a lower offset value, like say et30 sticks 20mm further outboard than the stock wheel, and most wheels are offset in the et30's. Unlike most of the cars I've listed above the freelander runs the same tyres all round, where most of the Jap sports cars run staggered setups, with something like 205/40/17 on a 17x7J et35 on the front and 255/40/17 on a 17x9J et15 on the rear. So you'd be looking at picking up two pairs of fronts for a GTO, or an NSX, however the Civic Type R and the Accord and maybe the RX8 uses the same wheels and tyres all round.

The good thing is a lot of these Jap cars have nice wheels that change hands for not a lot of money, I particularly like the civic type R wheels from a few years back, but thats another topic. You will need to get spiggot rings made for the new wheels if the centre bore is larger than the standard size, these are about a fiver posted on eBay. have a play with this website for calculating your tyre size, you are basically wanting something overall tyre diameter between 26"&29.5" and they have handy look up tables:

TL-DR: Sell the vivaro wheels and get some wheels from some fo the Jap cars I've listed above and work out your tyre sizes using a tyre comparison website looking for something between 26"&29.5" overall diameter.
