viscous fan tips

bought me self a viscous fan spanner , any ideas how to lock the shaft so's i can crack the nut , theres a 8-10mm hole on the side of the shaft tried putting a small bar in the hole to lock it , the bastid is fookin tight

are yer turnin it the right way? 200/300TDi is LH thread, TD5 is RH thread.

put yer landy in reverse then clump the spanner with a sheffield fine adjuster
