Hello All,

I've had my propshaft, VCU and so on some years removed, due to leaking front gator. It was laying in the car for that time wrapped in plastic sacks.
I bought a gator eventually and think to remember some saying it might be seized when not in use or something like that?

Is it possible to test it while it's still off the car if still working or are all those tests need installed ones? What would I need to do test it?

Best Regards
Matthias

Hold one end in bench vice. Grab the other end with large grips & a lever. See if it moves or is siezed.

This are threads on this somewhere if you search !!

If it was OK before, I'm sure it will be OK after sitting idle.

"New" ones have probably been sitting idle in crates for a very long time.

I'd bung it on the car and do the 1WUT. You'll need to do it a number of times to spread the goo around to get a reliable reading, it will probably start off longer and get shorter.
