hello

bit of info needed please

on the van freelanders are all the bits required to convert it to a car in place ie the plates to attach the rear seat belts??? the wires for the speakers, brackets for the side panels???

also will the rear carpet from a 5 door fit???

cheers dean

No brackets and fittings will have to be stripped out of another 3dr,

the speakers are in the back of the commercial, fade the sound to the back and listen. Pointless having them there, as sound quality behind a solid trim panal is pathetic. Unless its a sub woofer

The carpets in the commercial go as far as the mesh bulkhead, the boot carpets are the same in 3dr/5dr?

The plastic mouldings that line the boot are different as well.

Fun project, though.

Is your van lined with plywood? What are you doing with that?

Cheers

Blippie

i dont have one but have been asked if i would convert an 04 plate into a car so just finding out how hard it will be before i agree to it lol

i assume i can use any 3 door parts for an 04??? he wants black carpets and i have them from a 5 door if they will fit

cheers for the replies keep them coming;)

Think most of the three door parts are interchangable - Microcat will tell you.

Might take the plywood off your hands if you don't have a home for it.

if i decide to do the swap for him and if it has the ply i will drop you a line your more then welcome to the ply

Blippie, are you planning on lining your boot with the plastic coated ply? I thought about keeping it, cut it so it was just short of the seats, it looked awful, plus the template has to be cut to fit the trim footprint. Not forgetting it will sit higher than the boot locker, there is a another layer on the commercial locker lid. The rubber mats are dear more useful than the ply

Well, other half uses the TD4 for her business, and it is packed to the gunnals with kit. At the moment it is a three-seater. Thinking of decking rear out and thought it might be handy to have ply that was fairly near the right shape.

'Cos, could wait until she buys herself a FL2 Commercial, but I won't hold my breath.

There is no doubt that the ply is tough as old boots. The seats will have to come out or you will need to create a recess where the brackets are.
There is a sliding floor unit, PART No 768SV it takes 300kg, nice! also a sliding rack system avaible 769SV
Good to hear of a hippo paying its way :p
