Van aaken smart box

Does anyone have fitting instructions for an old van aaken smart box. Looks fairly straight forward except it has 2 wires. A black and a brown. I am assuming that the black is for a chassis earth but don't know about the brown. I have tried Dr Google but can't find what I am looking for. TIA

Hi DM....Did you manage to find out what the Black Wire does or where to connect it?
The Brown wire is an earth.

hi, yes the brown is the earth and i was told that the black was only used on a td5 engine, i never got around to actually tring to fit it due to the gearbox throwing a wobbly, then finding that the fuel tank cradle had broken, then the sub frame bolts had snapped the captive nuts in the chassis so my favorite freelander is currently parked up whilst i decide whether to try and revive it, break it for parts or use it as a chicken shed

Hmmm Ive just twigged on as you just sold the smartbox to me via zbay......Still havent fitted it yet as i was thinking the same thing about the Black wire but i did noticed the wiring loom wasnt from the smartbox as you say it might cover the TD5.

Just had a message regarding the wires. On the disco version it has a brown wire (fitted to earth ) and a blue wire that goes to earth via a switch. If you "make" the switch and earth the blue wire it turns of the power chip. They assume that their blue wire is the same as your black wire. Good luck
