After some views and opinion. I want to buy a really nice discovery 2. I’m looking at a 2004 landmark with only 45,000 miles on the clock. One owner. Inside is spot on. Underside is rust free. Slight lacquer peel on roof. The chap is asking 5800. Does this seem expensive as you can get disco 3 for less or is it about right considering mileage. Thanks in advance

At that money with such low miles, why is it not already on the drive?

Cheap and high mileage D3 money it might be but you are in a whole new realm of electronic voodoo and expense when you head into that territory.

OK a bit of peeling lacquer, but a few hundred quid in a pro paint shop could fix that, now needing to have new wishbones on either the back or the front on a D3 would cost a lot more, probably as much for the parts alone as the paint!!

With 45,000 miles it should be in exceptional condition and I have seen cars with that mileage sell for closer to 10k than 5 recently. Regarding the low mileage it really just common sense if the condition reflects that. May be a heap of things wron with the car if its not been looks after but there shouldn't be. Check the MOT history online.

Anyway at that price against that mileage it is very cheap!

Havnt bought it yet, owner is s nightmare to get hold of, almost like he foesnt want to sell.
