V8 fan belt tensioner removal?

Hi,

I bought a new belt tensioner (on the left as you look at the engine bay), and I know that to release the belt it unclips or is moved??

But how?

Can anyone help as to how I remove the belt and the unit?

I'm assuming once the belt is off it is simply one bolt?

Depends if it's a petrol or Diesel engine the tensioners are different and non interchangeable


There is a bolt under the tensioner it's a pita to get to but it's there think it's 13mm (1/2 inch in sensible size) When I say under it's more like in the casing I found on mine when extracting the Air Con (oh saved 2mpg with no air con compressor fitted)

Best way I found to remove old belts is a "stanley" knife

It's petrol. Thanks for the advice, it's getting really noisy now.
