V8 Disco 2 Running issues!!

Hi all, new to the forum and have had nothing but problems with my Disco. Let me start with what I have done!
Replaced Leads with Magnecor 8.5mm (previous owner had firing order cocked up and 1 lead hanging off the coil)
Replaced Plugs (put in Bosch but have ordered NGK after seeing comments on here)
Water pump
Throttle heater plate
Thermostat
Rad
Got rid of the stupid LR clips and replaced with Jubilee clips.

On starting the vehicle it has a slight misfire which clears, but smells very rich
On a 3 mile run into town, when slowing down revs drop to almost nothing and almost cuts out, quick rev and it clears itself.
It smells rich all the time

Any advice/help/pointers to what I have missed would be great!!

I'm pretty sure we have the same engine soooo if it smells of petrol then its not running on all 8 so pull the plugs 1 at a time and have a look see which one it is that's not fireing you could have a faulty plug or coil pack

funny thing is when I was doing the leads, i thought shall I just buy new coil packs and didnt........more fool me! The old leads were off on cylinder one, i will start with that one and work through! cheers mate

Its easy to get them mixed up being a v8 I'd check them again just to be sure then check the plugs if all is good then new coil packs sounds like you have do all the hard work already

I used the Rave manual for the coil layout and double checked before I put the inlet and leg system back on, it was a pain in the ass to do, but if I have to do it again it will be a lot easier this time.....well I hope lol
