used range rover all day tree work towing cherry picker then chipper across fields been fine then it just stopped I was driving then it stoped no coughing or spluttering ive got fuel in tank ive got a spark the dam thing wont fire I was thinking in line filter blocked any idea welcome 39 v8 k reg rangie thanks
 
sounds electrical mate..
does it spin over ok when cranking ??

i know mines diesel but when it suddenly stops its the cam belt...

off the wall idea, the immobilisor chip if you have one, not fallen out, or off the key ring ??
look under the bonnet for loose contections..
maybe electrical fuel pump ??

never had a petrol landie so cant really help you..

have you tried in the v8 secttion..

ok, old school trick to see if it fires and "starts"
squirt some petrol into the inlet where you can, take the top off the airflow meter, squirt some fuel down as it spins over.(even try easy start)
if you got sparks, the petrol squirted in should get sucked into the engine = should momentary fire up....



back in the day on my sd1 rover, it had an oil pressure switch that cut the fuel pump if the oil pressure dropped....has yours got something simular :confused:
 
You have a spark, The engine cranks so turn the ign on and check for a live feed at the injectors. If you have a feed check the fuel pressure at the rail, if not get the wiring diag out and check powers amd grounds. You say you have checked the fuses but if you do find a fuse blown remember a blown fuse is a symptom not a fault.
 
Thanks for all suggestions tried all I have spark I can suck fuel up through manually engine still turns over but wont fire try's to fire when sprayed deodorant directly into mass air flow I checked all fuses roll over safety valve so thinking must be pump now there's the problem two options go in though boot which means removal off bucket seats unbolt floor to access top of tank or drop under body protection then drop tank thinking through boot might be easier
