V8 110 any good?

Hi all I am just wondering what the general consensus is about V8 110s. Are the engines fairly good? Are they easy to work on for a novice? Are there any common faults with them? I am really just looking for peoples opinions. What do people think of this one Land Rover 110 V8 LPG CSW on eBay, also, Land Rover Range Rover, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 08-Mar-08 13:38:36 GMT)

dont know what there like on lpg but the petrols are thirsty feckers

I asked the same thing a while back the consensus was that a diesel is still cheaper to run than a lpg V8.

mpg is slightly worse on lpg than on petrol but obv that is balanced by the cost per litre

Had my own 85 110 V8 converted to LPG, can't i noticed much drop in power, and still cheap to run. It does about 15 mpg on gas (equates to a petrol equiv of around 30mpg on running costs) if driven sensibly, but does get thirsty at above about 80mph (allegedly!!), just DONT get the underslung tank if going off road, pleanty of room in back for the 120 litre tank and still some sideways bench seats that will take 3 each side (or two each side if they're big buggers)

Iv,e got a 1983 110 V8 L P G conn,i agree with BandM about 15mpg on gas,you must keep you points plugs and timing spot on it makes hell of a difference,and i found N G K plugs the best for L P G.
