Hello to all. Just a few quick observations to anyone who is interested. After being the proud owners of a 2000 es v6 for just over a year, we have now become the proud owners of a 2004 td4 hse. Tried a few "normal" cars but were impressed only by their blandness ! The car does not have to work very hard for its living being used mainly on short town based journeys, but fuel consumption..oh my god after being used to 18 mpg average from v6 this one returns 37 mpg (its a manual). ride is as good but turn in and confidence much improved. Really like the restyled interior and seats are a vast improvement. main thing however is more of a feeling of trust,ie not just waiting for hg's to fail gearbox to go south or worrying that ticking noises (vis valves) are getting louder. No problems as yet touch wood just want to report some good news not all doom. By the way to anyone wondering performance around town is not as different as you would think its only really 60 + mph that you miss the other motor. take care all and good luck everyone !
