Do I have read that the V6 bumper has a 'fat lip' to meet regs regarding crumple due to more engine space being consumed by metalwork and mechanical things.

But would a non V6 bumper fit on a V6 or is the extra plastic needed to provide physical space?

Anyone??

Only one way to find out!!
My V6's beauty is marred by the po trying to park in a wedge shaped gap a few times and I have a spare TD 4 bumper.
Will then black all external trim and upgrade rear lights to white reversing under bumper.

No it won't fit. The whole bumper armature is 50mm further forward on the V6, so it can accommodate the radiator, which is placed further forward so there's space for the front bank of cylinders.

OK thanks, figured they wouldn't do it for nothing, although the crumple zone theory sounded plausible!!

Looking out for good V6 front bumper 2001.

This front bumper thing only applies to the pre-facelift model. The facelift models all share the same front bumper, which fitted the V6, but simply gave the non V6 models more room in front of the rad. ;)
