Hi
Could do with some serious advice here - no 'shouldn't have bought a Freelander' etc. It's a V6 petrol automatic 2001 that I've had since 2004 with no trouble. Till now. Very intermittant starting fault. Turns over well, but no starting. Sounds like fuel starvation - first time tank was quite low, so got extra fuel and put in, car started. Blamed the gauge! Filled up, okay for while then same problem - tank nearly full. Started after a pause of about 15 mins. Since then it's done it once more. Can not find common factors except that temperature is halfway between cold and hot. Still suspect fuel, but could be immobiliser? Tried all 'tricks' I can think of - locking and unlocking, releasing fuel cap, etc. - to no avail, although it will start if left alone for an (unspecified) time. If it was fuel, wouldn't it give problems while running? (It doesn't.) Any ideas gratefully received. So far the problem has occurred in fairly 'convenient' places, but my luck will run out.
