Using derv after unknown fuel

Guys. By the smell of it, my defender 300tdi was run on Veg oil or bio before I got it. There is allegedly half a tank left, if you trust the gauge, and I put a new fuel filter on when the engine went back in.

Is there anything I should be careful of when filling it up with Derv? Is it only when running Bio Diesel for the first time you get filters clogging. I have read through the posts but just wanted to check.

Not sure where you can get Bio over here, but would carry on if I find any.

its fine, bio, and veg can mix with derv no problem, common to do so in the winter to thin it out a bit, especially veg oil.
not sure if its true,but been told not to mix veg oil and bio, not decided to find out either

Cheers guys, so no need to stock up on fuel filters and redex just yet!

There doesn't seem to any more fuel leaks need attending to, so should be on the road next month.

dont use redex with bio, dunno why, but it sez not on the bottle, B10 is max it is ok for, (10% bio to 90% dino)

Use Forte

or Sea foam

I'm gonna get my hands on some of the latter and use it on my tank purely cos it makes you a moving smoke bomb

yeah but seems to get good reviews and might be worthwhile as a one time flush

got a bulk pack of redex though so could do a double dose
