Hi all,
So I’ll explain from the beginning.
I have my clutch/flywheel/master all replaced along with a fully recon IRD in February. (I replaced VCU with recon the year before).
Since then I’ve been told my gearbox bearings are going as it grumbles along with the wheel bearings too. A lot of noise around bends.
My new IRD also came up with a fault and started leaking. I told the company who sent out a new unit.
I purchased a refurbed gearbox and booked the car to have everything done at once. IRD, gearbox, front wheel bearings and brake shields.
I got a call from the garage yesterday stating that they have completed all the work but the car is not going into drive…
This obviously has me panicking but my initial thought was the clutch release bearing. I asked this and they said they think it’s the gearbox itself where the driveshaft goes in…
regardless they said they would look into it and see if there’s anything they’ve missed and then get back to me. I’m going to have to wait until Monday as it’s a Sunday.
Just so I have some sort of knowledge myself (and I know this may be a big ask because it’s not easy to diagnose without the car) but can anyone give me an insight as to all the possible reasons that have caused this issue?
Thank you
