On my 1961 (with new style front exhaust pipe) I can't seen to find a way of putting my new front exhuast pipe into place. The old one came out ok, but I can't seen to get the new one woven in and out of the crossmembers and up through the engine bay.

I've tried jacking the old beast up to get more clearance, but nothing works.

Is there a special way of doing this, which doesnt include removing the gearbox?

Thanks. :)

did this a few years ago , ended up cutting and rewelding new pipe . Spend hours trying to work it out . hope you get better luck than I had , its a little fooker this one , but it must be possible , some one will state the obvious .

Thanks, had thought about that a few times. I could'nt bring myself to do it, knowing me welding would have more holes in it than the old pipe.

I just jacked the front axle up to about two feet using bits of wood. I got it in in the end. :)
