I've started to notice that when I'm stationary on an uphill junction, that the engine revs seem to be lower than when on a flat junction. The engine doesn't die, but it just seems like it not getting enough fuel. Its not a major issue, but can anyone offer any suggestions why this might be happening? It's had a new fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator in the last 12 months.

Do you still have EGR?... clean the AAP sensor anyway(the one in the airbox), if the filter head is fitted with a non return valve you should put a new one(in the rear inner port of the housing)

The EGR has been removed and the air filter was renewed about 3 months ago. It still has the cat fitted. It makes no difference if the MAF is disconnected, but I haven't checked the MAP yet, I was going to remove it and give it a clean later this morning. I'll plug my Nanocom in and go and find some hills to stop on today to see what the live readings say.

Removed and cleaned the MAP sensor, it wasn't too dirty. Been out for a run with the Nanoncom connected for some live data, and nothing is showing out of the ordinary when stationary on a hill when compared to stationary on the flat.

When you say nothing out of the ordinary is showing, can you see the dip in revs on the nanocom?

Also you say you cleaned the MAP sensor, SF edited his post to say AAP.

Cheers

It was about the AAP not MAP and an inputs fuelling data saved then posted here would be relevant not instrument mode

Yeah, sorry, the revs did drop by about 50. Not a lot, but you can feel it. I've not checked the AAP, but will do at the next opportunity.

According to the data it's not a management issue though how is that engine running under load? cos the boost is very low
To be honest, the quick run I did to get this data wasn't a hard run, so the engine was never really under any load. On a good run, with the engine under load it seems to run rough at high revs in the lower gears, but once I reach 4th and 5th gears it pulls really well up hills.

Only needs one **** fill up these days!
I'll grab a new filter today. Funny you should say this, but many motorists on the Island do complain about dirty diesel from some garages, so maybe I'll try filling up at a different place for a few weeks.
