Long time reader, first time posting, I’ve been looking at buying a 90 for almost a decade now, and finally took the leap around a month ago, couldn’t be happier! It’s a bit of a project so has been keeping me busy with small issues like oil leaks, generally maintenance, water ingress, welding, the list goes on!
One thing I am stuck on is my steering, I’ve searched and searched but not found anybody with a similar issue so wonder if anybody can help, when turn the steering wheel I get instant engagement when turning right, steering is nice and sharp (for a 30 year old landy) but when turning left there is much more travel before the landy turns, a good inch or 2 of movement, it’s making for a pretty nervous driving experience. I’ve checked for play down the whole line and nothing is loose, UJs seem sold, no play in any suspension components, so I’m left scratching my head. Any ideas?
