Tyres

Hi All.

Had the Disco for about 3 months and done 5000 miles, about 2000 of which touring scotland with the caravan on the back.

Noticed a lot of wear on the nearside tyre on the outer edge so i guess the tracking needs a looking at (or i need to spend less time in the gutter)

Just wondering, how many miles should we expect from a set of tyres, is it true they should be replaced in pairs and anybody know of any good deals at the moment. (live in stoke)

PS miles mainly motorway 50 - 60 mph

Four months ago I changed my tyres. I had BFG Macadams on and I got the best part of 25000 out of them. I'm sure it would have been more had I not towed a 2.5 ton trailer round on a regular basis.

I replaced them with BFG A/T and they have been on for 4 months now and aren't showing signs of wear yet, and I'm still towing the trailer.

If its mainly road stuff, I,d definatley have a look at General Grabber UHP,s.
I have a set on my 2002 TD5, and I think "theyre great"!!.
( better of road than I thought aswell ! ).

Depends on your tyre, I had about 30k out of a set of falken a/t's heards people say 100k out a set of bfg's

Pirelli scorpion ST's great on road and now too bad offroad.

i have avon rangers on my road wheels last well for directional tyres even used them for greenlanng without any problems
