Thanks all for info on glow plugs, ok now.My defender 90 has got off road tyres at the mo, they are Goodyear Wrangler 33x12.5 or 15lt, they stick out over the wheel arch, and are monsters!
I'd like to change them, as i don't do any off roading, my question is....what size tyres should i be looking for?
I want them for normal road use.
Also, does anyone know, how much i im likely to have to pay for them? and how much would i be able to sell these ones for, their only 6 months old, but their just not for me.
Many thanks in advance
Jeff

Have you got a 2" lift fitted? The reason i ask is..... you dont want your landy to look daft with little tyres on it.
I'd go for a set of 235/85/16r to be on the safe side. They fit a standard 90/110 and also dont look out of place on a lifted landy.

Prices... check out www.devon4x4.com they often have tyres on special offer, so email them.
another cheap supplier is Mark of www.sowdentyres.co.uk

As for Bronco.. theyre about to be hitting legal probs with their remoulds, can't say anymore Yet!

ok then, go on, we are all dying to know. yer not allowed to explain the detail but yer can say bronco's are about to be hit legally, i suppose next you will say that you cant say anything due to possible libel action. ffs just tell us the problem but start off with the word alledgedly ;)

alledgedly.... a famous tyre supplier has been using carcasses that are not anywhere near the standard they should be for re-use as a remoulded tyre. Causing the new remould to explode/deflate rapidly as the tyre wall fails or the tread leaves the carcass.
Perhaps buying remoulds is not a good idea after all, especially when "trusted" companies use dangerous/faulty goods in their manufacture.
Also on their most famous remould..... people have been wondering why the lugs rip/tear off so easily..... I cant answer that, but when they read this post they'll probably have a good guess as to why.

Anyone ****in dumb enough to put remoulds on anything needs a broom handle up their arse.

When the **** hits the fan theres 3 things you have to rely on and need:

1. Belief that your ability actually matches your opinion of it,

2. Split second timing and the speedy reactions of a scared rat,

3. ****in decent tyres so both of above isnt wasted.

Or you die.

Simple.

I agree... there are more risks involved with remoulded tyres, even though they are extensively tested and "most companies" use high quality carcasses.
I was one of those people who could not afford "real" tyres and fitted my 90 with a set of 235/85 Greenway Machos, which i have to say found to be fantastic off road, and better than 750's on road.
Needless to say, i have now switched to BFG mud terrains, which i'm hoping will last a very long time at £117:50p each.

Jeez wots that doing up there..................eh a brush handle wondered where that was.

Bronco roughriders.........................................fitted since early summer and I'm still alive.

I put some fat tyres on my Defender 90 for offroading, only just started so I don't know what to expect, someone said I'd be better off using the originals instead. I noticed that some people were letting air out of their tyres before the trial.

All a bit confusing for me and shedloads to learn, whats the crack then guys? helpus pleeez !

Cheers GRUNT, I've not got the best tyres then for offroading, considering it's mostly muddy!. I dunno wots best then, cos my Landy is my regular road ride as well as being used for offroading (I couldn't afford 2 cars unfortunately).:(

Doh! cheers for the tip 35" (do you know me or somethin!!) I'll get some help from one of the more experienced offroaders, they've been right helpful to the new gal on the circuit. (actually, they'll just come over to see wot the f*** um up to next and rip the **** outta me!!)
