Disco 2 Tyres question

Folks, I have Pirelli Scorpion road tyres on my disco 255/65/16. They are on their last legs however I have been given some AT 265/75/16 tyres foc all with 5mm tread. I have been looking at intermediate tyres anyhow.

Question is, I know they will fit the rim however will they clear the front arches okay?

I'm a bit lost here. Thinking out aloud , if I had 18" alloys with 255-55-18 tyres they fit, however if I had 16" alloys with 265-75-16 tyres they won't fit?

This is easily searchable stuff... 255 55 r18 is a 29 inch diameter tyre, that's stock size for a D2

265 75 r16 is 31.5 inch diameter
