Tyres bfg a/t mach 5 rims 7x16 -265/75/16 disco 2

Hello people hope everyones had a good xmas and i wish everyone a happy new year. I have a 2001 td5 discovery. Which i have fitted a 2'' lift all round i have also retainded the air suspesion on the back to it lifts 4'' in total when you hit the button. I have a set of Bfg all terrains in 265/75/16 their nearly new i went ant brought them because i have started doing some offroading not too much but proberly want to go to a few places like tixover quarry and that next Year. All im thinking is are these tyres any good off road for what i am using my vehicle for as i do a fair amount of on road to. or Should Ive been looking at the insa turbo special tracks. But im not sure whether to stick with the bfgs or not any opinions please???

Also i am looking to fit a set of mach 5 rims to it they are 7x16 will my current 265/75/16 all terrains fit these rims?? And do you think they will look any good with all terains as i mainly see these fitted with simex extreme trekkers witch are alot more chunky Devon 4x4 Off Road - Mach 5 Wheel - 7x16 : MACH57X16BS : Off Road Equipment from Devon 4x4

special tracks are superb i love em,there great in the mud ,,and **** on the road,there noisy and wander alot.at tyres are great for flat grass and muddy puddles depends how extreme you want your offroading to be your ats will perform well on the road and offroad all i could say is dont go out alone..mach 5s you must have a lot of money..i personnally would look at silverlines website you can get a tyre and rim combination for what you would pay for the mach 5s on there own,,as to what they will look like ??????????? beauty is in the eye of the beerholder.

you would probably be best suited to the bfg mud terrain,it performs well on the road and is ok offroad

does this help with what mach 5's will look like with Special tracks? I know you have a disco but it might give you an idea.

The tyres are 265/75/16's and they fit with no issues

Im just reluctant to shell out on more tires when my allterains are like new i do want mach 5 rims though i like the way the allterains are on the road. what should i expect from bfg mud terrains on the road bearing in mind i do use it on the road alot. any ideas?? and will a 265/75/16 fit a 7x16 mach 5 rim ok? I genrally go greenlaing but some off the lanes are preaty bad are mud terrains noisy? How will it be handling wise and stopping. And whats the life of them like? Thanks Dan.

I just posted the piccies of 265/75/16 tyres on 7x16 mach 5's
along with......

The tyres are 265/75/16's and they fit with no issues

Mud terrains are more noisey than all terrains but it really does vary on what make and pattern they are. Handling Also depends on tyre choice.

if someone produced a tyre that performed like the special track was cheap to buy handled well on the road,wasnt noisy and lasted forever everyone would be buying it..unfortunately it dont exist,you have to weigh up what you will be using them for and come to a comprimise

Or do what I have. Insa turbo mountain (AT's) on 8 spokes for my day to day bits n bobs and a set of disco steel rims with MT's fitted for when I'm off exploring muddy places. Thats about the only way you get everything you want but it means buggerin about changing wheels

Hi, you say you lifted your TD5 but retained the air suspension, how did you do this?, and did you need new brake pipes or anything else?. Thanks Chris.

No i just made some spacer that go between the airbag and the axel. Then made some little spacer from alloy for the height sensors so it didnt need recalibrating and it keeps the pressure landrover intended in the airbags. but you could adjust the height on the sensors aswell. with it being like this the ecu thinks the cars at normal ride height and allows you to still use offroad mode.
