tyre sizes

I have just noticed today that the front tyres on our 2001 5 door Suzuki
Grand Vitara are 235 70 16 while the rears are 235 60 16.
Apart from the fact that the spare would only be the same as one axle, could
this be what caused our transfer box to be faulty? ( see previous post)
I presume the correct size is the smaller tyre, as the front tyres rub on
full lock.

Different diameter tyres front/back can do all sorts of horrible things to
transfer boxes...

Yes, especially if 4wd is used, and especially if 4wd is used on-road ...

on 40000miles now and I've just developed a problem changing gear the clutch
not coming back up under it's own steam needing me to hook a foot under it
to lift it. It will be ok then for a few miles and then happen again a
mechanic told me it's a sealed hydraulic unit and has to be change complete
cost about £212 the part and £40 labour. Anyone any views or knowledge
please any info gratefully received.
