Hi all , first post recently got first Range Rover a P38 '95 petrol .I have got a set of 5 L322 wheels to put on . I know about the spacers and the wheel nuts needed . Question is they need new tyres so do I stick with the same 255/60 x 18 0r should it have a smaller profile to adjust the circumference to match the 255/65 x 16 standard wheels ?

I put on some new 19" L322 wheels on mine but they came with 255/55/19, which means the new spare won't fit into the spare wheel well. The next set of tyres will have a 50 profile meaning, the new spare (19") will fit in the wheel well and I won't have to carry around 2 wrenches and set of nuts for the original spare wheel that I have to use!
You may be ok if you have 18" wheels....

Thats what i'd worked out with a page full off mutiplication and pi . the 55 gives nearly the same rolling circumf and the 60 is about 100 mm more . I couldnt find any mention of people changing their tyres when upgrading wheels .

As long as all four are the same I presume all that is affected is the speedo reading and the gearing . And the spare not fitting in the well .But knowing these creatures (range rovers ) are fickle things don't know whether it would adversely effect a load of other things !
gone blank do i mean affect or effect

I also got l322 wheels on my p38 I havent changed the tyres as they were new but if I dont raise the suspension when reversing the tyre catches the mud flaps when steering. Hope this helps.

Thanks for replies ,as most tyres are borderline i'll keep eyes open for a set of 55's to go on before fitting. The only tyre worth saving is the spare so maybe ebay that once i've got new ones fitted .
