I have four identical tyres on the car at the moment, they were fitted mid to late 2017. I got the car early 2018 and sorted a few problems which caused the tyres to wear unevenly (vcu issue, slow puncture on another etc), all is now fine.
The problem I have is that the rear pair have approx. 7 - 7.5mm of tread left, the front pair have about 5mm and one of them has worn a lot on the shoulder and I'd like to replace it really, ideally before MOT in May.
The current tyres are Arrowspeed CP661, I don't know much about these tyres other than Kwikfit sell them at £74 each.
Are they a budget tyre that should really be avoided or are they ok? They seem a bit expensive for a budget as they are similarly priced to the likes of Kumho or Firestone and other more well known brands.

I am after some advice on whether to put the good pair from the back on the front and get a pair of new ones for the rear, or just have done with it and get four new ones of a decent make. (suggestions of reasonable tyres welcomed - are Firestone any good?)

Car is an '05 td4 with 215/65/16's on it. It's my daily car so I don't do much off road, occasionally in a field or pulling some boats up a slip way / small bit of beach.

Thanks.

I would get the front wheel alignment checked, and perhaps swap the front tyres around for now to maximise use.

Come MOT time, get two new tyres of the same make, fit them to the front wheels and then swap backs for fronts, so the newer tyres are on the rear, and the 7mm ones are on the front.

£74 each doesn’t seem too bad, but I wouldn’t go near Kwikfit.

That's too much difference to swap the tyres end to end. I swap mine end to end, but only if there's less than 1mm difference between them.

That's very expensive for a so call budget tyre, but nothing ****fit sell is budget really.

You can get much better tyres, for not much extra money, providing you avoid Kwikfit.

That depends on your current situation. 2 identical tyres at £74 each is much less than 4 decent tyres at £90 or so each.

In my experience, no.

You'll struggle to better Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T G015 as a direct replacement for all your old tyres.
These are currently under £86 fitted at Halfords at the moment. https://www.halfordsautocentres.com/tyres/yokohama/geolandar-a-t-g015/215-65-r16-98h-rpb
They're definitely worth the extra £12 per tyre, as they grip well in all conditions and last 20 to 30 K miles, providing the wheel alignment is ok.
