thinking of buying a twisted performance intercooler kit. the FORCE 6 PACKAGE - £549 for my 300tdi 110 defender. i was wondering if any one have fitted one and does it make much difference because it's a lot a money to send on something to find out it's not worth the money. the website is Twisted Performance Diesel Tuning Bespoke Vehicles Land Rover Specialist
so if any one has fitted one please let me know,
many thanks

The following is my opinion.....

Looking at the kit, I don't believe it will make a huge much. (It will be like comparing driving on a summers day to driving on a winters frosty day.) I'd change the intercooler only really if you are upping the boost, or changing the flow conditions. For example changing the CC of the engine. Best thing to do is to phone them and get them to explain the benefits, and what the "actual" increase in performance is. Make a decision from there.

youll prob get the same amount of benefit from cleaning yr existing intercooler, upping the boost slightly and fitting samco or similar type hoses, and will be a lot less wonga

I agree....
I'd also replace the air filter. I'm pretty sure the likes of K&N do direct swaps that fit in your normal housing. No chavvy bits!

That being said. I do like their exhausts. MMMmmm Yum.

whats the best way to clean my intercooler and what with out
remove from car and block bottom hole then use petrol or white spirits and shake vigorously
also whats the best hoses to fit.
the OE one's are perfectly fine. But if you want to waste money on bling get silicone ones.
how do i up the boost
do a search loads of threads on best way to do this.

There are plenty of little things you can do to a tdi to make it a bit better, none of which cost anything. Don't waste your money on any of that fashion victim crap.

While on the subject of intercoolers thought this would be worth mentioning. NOT SPAMMING. JUST TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE OUT. Through my job I've found that the company previously known as Serck Intertruck, now Unipart, do intercoolers, radiators & clutches etc for Land Rovers. They currently have the contract with the MOD. The clutches (discs/pressure plates etc) are uprated heavy duty. Dunno if Joe Public can buy direct: but if you have an account with them you can save cash on "sensible" parts.
