Hi,
I've recently move to Cyprus from the UK and have brought a 2004 TD4 Freelander, everything was working fine for the first few months. On a motorway journey it had loss of power and loads of black smoke coming from the exhaust, we limped it home and didn't us it for a few days. When we came round to using it again there was some black smoke it i accelerated hard other then that it was driving fine.
After a bit of reading I decided to change the crankshaft breather filter and air filter which was relatively easy, whilst on the job i noticed a small filter hanging at the back of the engine, ive moved it on to the right of the yellow nipple to take a picture.
Does anybody know what this is for and where is meant to attach?? Please see picture attached.
Many thanks in advance.
Mark
