Transmission completely seized help!!!

The landy has been sitting still for 8 months now and the transmission brake is completly seized, i tightend the bolt that attaches the brake lever to the rod that runs vertical and now nothing moves atall.

I tried hitting the bit that joins the brake cylinder to the vertical rod and it wont budge, i cant get the drum off because the brake shoes r pushed up tight against the drum and the adjusting screw is also seize.

Ive tried WD40 and plusgas to get things moving i also drove it forward and back a foot to try loosen it but nothing is budging!!!

Any ideas??

have you tried hitting the h/brake drum with a block of wood and hammer normally works :)
 
try backing off the h/brake shoes then give it a crack with the hammer and block of wood again if it still wont free off then you will have to remove the drum :)
 
Disconnect linkage, remove the retaining clips from the the actuator, unbolt the adjuster, remove the nuts holding the drum to the output flange and then hit it with a hammer. The drum should come off, possibly with the shoes and actuator connected, 'cos the only thing holding the shoes in will be the springs.

Good idea i'll give that ago, its just in such an awkward place to get too, but that seems the best answer.

And to the person talking about leaving hand brake off at night, i dont think it makes much difference someone hit my parked car and it ended up 50 feet down the road! Ahh well the insurance paid for a new car and gave me a bit left over for a landy
