Hi could do with a bit of advice.I have a small leak from the transfer box O ring shalf between gear box and transfer box. I know the best way is to remove and replace but has anyone tried cleaning with brake and clutch then sealing off with ct1 or similar? I can see 95% of the end but unfortunately the other bit is hidden by the casing and I don't know if there is a void behind that bit?

I replaced the O ring on mine a few years ago by the following method.
Removed two bolts holding transfer to main and replaced with longer bolts.
Removed remaining bolts and slid transfer back an inch or so on the long bolts
Push intermediate shaft forward just enough to expose O ring to remove and replace.
Do not be tempted to push shaft any further forward, I do not know for sure but shaft/gear may drop out of position at the back. I did not risk it.

Done that on my son's Ninety and on my 90.
There is quite a bit of associated dismantling before getting to the point of moving the transfer box backwards.
It's a little time consuming and a little fiddly getting the o-ring on. Used genuine o-ring and was successful on both occasions.

You could of course try cleaning it and seal it up, nothing to lose I guess.
Except it will give you extra work if it doesn't fix it.
