trailing arms/ radius arms

just a few questions about 90 arms, i have a 4 inch lift kit but i dont think i have cranked arms? should i exchange my ones for cranked?

i was hoping to refurb some when i find a good set will they need sand blasting or is hand sanding just as good for prep?

i have both and they improved how my 90 drove, running a 3 inch lift, i got new front but got second hand rear trailing arms, got them shot blasted and re powdercoated them o looked like new.

yes you should, your bushes will be under serious strain.

And you wil probably need 6 degree arms rathe than the usual 3 Degree ones. Try QT or Adrenaline 4x4.

Hi guys not to sound to much of a dunce, but at what size lift do you need to start adding cranked radius arms and what degrees for what size lifts etc.

Ideally as soon as you start lifting it. I think its strongly advised to use corrective arms over 2" of lift. Im not sure what angles of castor correction are required

gwyn lewis cranks standard front radius arms and dose a loverly job too ive had 2 sets off him (best to ring up for a price) and iv got a pair of heavy duty cranked rear arms again from gwyn

No need to sand blast them, used a wire wheel on a grinder and they came up very well.

i have a set of gwyn lewis too, very good when do you need to start using a adjustable panhard rod?

as soon as you lift it.

When you lift the axle away from the chassis your increasing the distance but keeping the same piece of metal so this pulls the axle to one side a little. It can cause 'crabbing' and also your radius arms can foul on chassis.

also does anybody have any previous issues with using red oxide primer as apposed to a different primer? i ask as i get it from college quite easily lol

nope never had an issue with it only find it darkens off the top coat slightly

ive got the 6 degree arms on the 110 with a 6" suspension lift.... a cheaper option on a 2-3" lift are castor corrected bushes if your on a budget
