Hi y'all.

I've enquired of a couple of local tyre places that do laser tracking and they won't touch my beast (snort!) because the tyres are too big and they say it will need a specialist 4x4 system like a Corgi (I thought that was boilers).

Any advice, either as to whether they are talking crap and just don't want to deal with it; or recommendations for a place in Surrey / south London / Kent / Hampshire I can take it to for said specialist attention? Or a KwikFit (etc) willing to deal with something a tad out of the ordinary?

I don't know what size the tyres are (I can find out later if needs be) but the vehicle is this.

Thanks peeps.

Ron

The tracking can be done by you to the degree of accuracy that is needed . Yes they are talking crap ! I ran one of those places for a very short while , most are not fit to work on a wheelbarrow FMHE .
If you can find someone to spin the wheels up and get them somewhere near balance its worth the effort (if remoulds don't bother trying) . Tell them at the start that you don't need them perfect as it can be almost impossible sometimes. make sure your steering damper is in good nick (I run two on my 110 with 285/75 tyres)

Insideout 4x4 in Capel (Near Dorking), I know for a fact Oli has Laser Tracking Gauges and I expect will have no problem in tracking it for you. :)

Hang on, Do you want Tracking or Balancing? They might be able to do the Balancing at Insideout aswell, or you might have to go to a Lorry/PSV Tyre fitting company to get them balanced.

At work, very few big tyres get balanced (I work for a local Bus company, and unless they vibrate they don't get balanced!) as the bigger the tyre diamater, the less it actually matters as for the same speed it will be turning fewer times compared with a car tyre.
