Yes, awesome vehicle. The new D-4D diesel engines are great. Not much
goes wrong with them. They wear front tyres out pretty quickly and rear
spring leaves sometimes break, but nothing major.

The few times I've seen a HiLux off-road it went everywhere the Defenders
(and the parabolic-equipped S3) went, and didn't have any issues ...

On a related note, can anyone tell me what year the Double Cab Hi-Lux was
introduced? It ocurrs to me that such a beast would suit me equally well
as a Defender would (and possibly better), and as a result of REMUS' "mk1
Toyota Hi-Lux " thread I've discovered there are UK sources for upgrade
parts after all!
