Hi, I am new to this forum and to the world of Landrover, I now have a RR sport HSE 2013.

would like some help with towing electrics. I have purchased a wiring kit from LR but don't see anywhere to plug these into, as they describe in the instructions and also as seen on the youtube videos,

The only plugs I can see is the ones shown in my photo, but the plugs on the harness supplied do not match these.

was wondering if anyone knew if I have the wrong kit or am I on the wrong track. Thankyou

Not sure. On P38 it’s in panel on drivers side boot at the back. The plug is there even if you haven’t got tow hitch fitted. Your model will endoubtedly differ but many principles are same.

Have you checked RAVE?
I doubt rave will cover a 2013 sport!
Probably need to go to topix for that which is a paid subscription for the manuals.

Hi

Need to double check that the loom you’ve got is the right year as there were few different options, ie deplorable , fixed towbar

Is there any parts numbers on the loom u bought please as I can then do some digging to find out

What socket did u buy , 12n 12s or 13 pin

What engine do u have , auto/ manual, inc the date ur sport was registered plse

Many thks

Ps, u may also req diagnostic to turn the electrics on, depends on loom,

Hi thanks for replying:
Hi not sure which model it is, or how I tell re: (L320 or L494) have included some pics which may help with this, and a pic of the part number of the wiring I bought.
its a 3.0D TDV6 auto, and the wiring I bought has two harnesses one with a white cap and the other black 7 pin as I only intend towing a trailer.
Been informed its an L320

Enough information to clone your car:eek:

Hi

Checked and that loom is fitted behind ur rear bumper and bumper has to be removed

https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/content/document/view?id=164028&groupId=1671

Have u also checked in the passengers side boot side locker , behind the small panel

It may be a good idea to ring ur local dealer as there’s a change in 2013 and u don’t want to remove ur bumper and find it’s not there

Where did u get ur loom from plse, thks

in the boot side locker there is only one larger connector with lots of cables coming from it and then splitting, the two plugs I showed in the picture sit a little bit back from this, coming of a large loom.
the wiring kit was purchased from Morrisons the local Land Rover dealer.

Sounds like then the connectors are behind the bumper , as per the pdf link

Just thought there’s the RRS forum , would just hate u to remove the bumper and it’s not there

Also I would have thought ur local dealer could confirm that for u of where the connectors are

By the way What connector is hidden inside that foam plse , they haven’t got blanks on them have they , where a blank connector needs to comes off

Also as you’ve got a HSE what towing sockets are already there please , thks

Plus ur more than likely need diagnostics to turn it on

Diagnostics to turn on towing electrics? Utter madness.

Diagnostics to turn on towing electrics? Utter madness.

Indeed, alas just something that u have to accept with these later models

Must admit having the iid has been a godsend and it only takes a few minutes to turn things on and off and saves u all the hassle of not going to the dealership inc saving £100 each time

Ps, just looking at that tyre inflation system in the new defender , think that’s going to be an electrics nightmare
