:eek:Hi,
I've just fitted an Anchor tow bar with one electric (black) socket, the electrics that came with it are the spade cut in type and with an audible sensor. Reading this site I now find that there is a plug already behind the lights that I could use with the right connection.

If I wire as instructed will the Trailer Light on the dash work or is the Audible Sensor to replace it. I would rather the Trailer Light detector work than have an audile sensor or even better have both working.

Can anyone advise, can I get the other part of the plug to attach, will the Trailerlight on the dash then work and not the audible sensor provided....I'd rather plug into the existing wiring than cut into it.

Please help

To get the trailer light on the dash to work you have to replace the standard flasher relay. It wont make any difference how you wire in the trailer socket, but if you do replace the flasher relay wont need the audio repeater. I don't have the part number for the relay that you need mine came with the kit. It's a bit late now, but you would have been better off buying the dedicated kit.

Thanks Richard.

I've checked and I have the plug all I need is to know is what connectors to use on the wires, where each colour goes and the part no. of the relay.

Can anyone help?
Thank Chris

Hi Richard,

I followed your advise and I now have a Towbar with Landrover "plugin" electics, only slightly fiddly bit was the back plate which I had to turn around as the socket cable reached to the right of the tow bar not over to the left as previous.

I'm now after a couple of the plastic plugs that hold the sound proofing to the underneath of the bonnet, I've asked about half a dozen breakers and no ones got any, do you know anyone who might have any?
:crazy_driver:
Thanks again for your help.

Chris
