tow or not to tow

ok debate. . . .was told by an rac engineer that it is ok to tow a gaylander auto or manwell as long as you have engine running un in a neutral gearing as long as you do not exceed 50 mph during the tow. . .now is this true or not now this rac man had been doing the job fer years . . . . .thoughts please. . . .

yup, its true, when i were with the aa i towed many a gaylander on a pole, but as a rule of thumb the general practice is to recover both 4x4's and auto's
