tow bar

Has anyone converted a tow bar to use with a 2 inch hitch?

Been thinking about it for ages!

looked at this tow bar and wondered if anyone could make a fitting for a 2" hitch?

Looking at mine it looks like a piece of 2" box section has just been welded on. Depending on what size the box section is that the flat plate is welded to in the pic of stc50391, you may be able to just cut the plate off and use that.

that could just work cutting the plate off!

That's all I was thinking of doing, I spoke to a welder about it, the 2" box is a common size so if I just tacked a bit to my witter bar he would weld it properly then you can buy the fittings easily enough. I was also going to put some mounts on for a bash plate at the same time! It's a very long list of things to do

It's gonna be used as a recovery point not a towbar. The title is a bit misleading.
